Connecting music technology education across the UK and United States

Ti:ME USA (Technology in Music Education) is a leading organisation supporting the use of technology in music education across the United States. Through professional development, resources, certification and events, Ti:ME USA supports music educators in developing the knowledge and skills to use technology effectively in their teaching and practice.

TiME UK and Ti:ME USA have formed a transatlantic partnership, bringing together two organisations with a shared commitment to advancing music technology education and supporting the educators, organisations and industries that make this possible.

Since its beginnings in 1995, TI:ME has played an important role in establishing music technology as an integral part of music education, developing standards, certification and professional learning for educators across the US. Through conferences, training, resources and partnerships with music education associations, Ti:ME has built a strong national community of educators committed to using technology to create new opportunities for music learning.

Its work continues to support both established and emerging educators, including through the Music Technology Leadership Academy, which helps teachers develop the skills and confidence to lead technology-based music programmes and reach students beyond traditional models of music education.

At the heart of Ti:ME USA's work is a belief that technology can expand the ways in which young people create, perform and engage with music. This shared commitment to innovation, inclusion and high-quality music education provides a strong foundation for our partnership.

TI:ME USA said: "From that first conversation at NAMM 2026, we knew just how important it was for us to collaborate... The Memorandum of Understanding commits both organisations to collaboration across professional development, research and knowledge exchange, advocacy, shared resources and international networking, creating new opportunities for educators, learners and industry on both sides of the Atlantic.
