About us

Established in 2018, Technology in Music Education UK (TiME) is the UK's leading membership organisation dedicated to advancing the role of music technology in education, representing a network of more than 1,000 practitioners and organisations.

We connect educators, industry partners, researchers and policymakers to ensure music technology is embedded across all stages of learning, from Early Years to Higher Education, and across mainstream, inclusive and specialist settings.

As music education and the creative industries continue to evolve, TiME supports the sector through workforce development, research, advocacy, careers initiatives and strategic partnerships. We help strengthen connections between education and industry, developing skills, informing practice and creating pathways into creative and technical careers.

Today, TiME works with schools, colleges, universities, music hubs, arts organisations, technology companies and the wider music industry, helping to build a more connected, innovative and inclusive future for music education.

Our Priorities

Policy & Advocacy: We promote the role of music technology in education through engagement with the Department for Education (DfE), Arts Council England (ACE), Ofsted, UK Music and a wide range of sector partners.

Inclusion & Accessibility: TiME leads nationally recognised work in accessible and adaptive music technologies, promoting inclusive practice and creating more equitable opportunities for people to create, learn and participate in music.

Partnerships & Innovation: Through our corporate membership scheme, we bring together technology companies and educators to support innovation, product development and the effective use of music technology in education.

Professional Development: Through events, training, practical resources and our national network, we help educators build confidence and use music technology creatively and effectively.

Careers and Workforce: We work in partnership with education providers, industry and employers to help future professionals develop the skills, experience and connections needed for careers in the music and creative industries.
