pBone Music – Accessible Instruments for All Ages
We are delighted to have pBone Music on board as TiME Corporate Partners. pBone Music are the creators of the original plastic trombone, first launched in 2010. Designed to be lightweight, robust and affordable, the pBone quickly became a classroom staple and sparked a new generation of accessible brass instruments.
Their expanding range includes the pTrumpet, pTrumpet hyTech, pCornet, pBugle, and pBone mini – each offering a playful and practical route into brass playing. The pBuzz introduces younger learners to pitch and embouchure in a fun and engaging way, while the pCorder provides a stepping stone from recorder to brass.
pBone Music are also committed to inclusive music making, offering a selection of accessible tools and resources that support learners of all abilities.
Among these is Soundbops – a colourful, tactile instrument designed for children aged 3 and up, including those with additional needs and disabilities.
Soundbops uses colour-coded disks, or ‘bops’, each representing a note. These can be placed on one of 13 towers, where pressing a button plays the associated sound.
Children can stack up to three bops to create chords and explore harmony, with ten different instrument sounds to choose from.
With a built-in speaker, headphone socket, and a compact, battery-powered design, Soundbops is portable and classroom-friendly. Each set includes 12 bops, a starter book with colour-matched notation, and a carry case for easy transport and storage.
