Fender Logo

Founded in 1946 by Leo Fender in California, Fender Electric Instrument Manufacturing Company (to give Fender its full name) is the world’s leading manufacturer of electric guitars, basses and amplifiers. Most famous for its iconic guitars such as the Stratocaster and Telecaster, Fender is one of the most recognisable names in music.

Fender continues to expand its impact in education and digital music-making through a growing ecosystem of accessible tools and platforms. From getting started on an instrument through to recording and refining ideas, their suite of apps and hardware supports learners and educators at every stage.

In 2021, Fender purchased PreSonus Audio Electronics, an extremely well-respected manufacturer of professional audio equipment and music software, including the award-winning Studio One DAW, Eris monitor speakers, and StudioLive mixers.

Fender have now brought PreSonus closer into the Fender ecosystem by creating the Fender Studio, allowing you to plug your Fender guitar into a Fender Audio interface (like the AudioBox Go or Quantum), and into the Fender Studio Pro 8 DAW (previously the PreSonus Studio One). Fender Studio Pro 8 provides an advanced recording environment for those looking for a professional production environment.

The free Fender Studio app is a free, multi-platform digital audio workstation (DAW) designed for guitarists, bassists, and musicians to record, edit, and jam using authentic Fender amp tones and effects.

Available on mobile and desktop, it features one-tap recording, 8-16 tracks, built-in backing tracks, and studio-quality mixing tools. This enables users to move from simple idea capture through to more developed studio workflows. It’s a great approach that creates clear progression routes for learners exploring music technology.

Other Fender apps further support musical development. Fender Play provides structured, accessible learning for guitar, bass and ukulele. Fender Tune is a reliable precision tuner, while Fender Tone connects directly with Fender’s amplifier range, enabling players to shape and refine their sound.

Together, these tools offer clear entry points into music-making, supporting progression from first notes through to recording and performance.

We look forward to working with Fender and exploring how their technology can support inclusive, creative music education across schools, hubs and community settings.
